TechTalk Connect is our flagship annual night, built for the 7,000 people building careers in tech inside our community. Unlike big conference halls, Connect is intentionally one room (300 people), practitioner-led, and focused on the things you face on Monday: what actually gets you hired, promoted and paid now that AI is changing what companies want.

PANEL 118:45 – 19:20

Generalist vs specialist: what actually wins now

Go deep or go broad? As AI absorbs more of the specialist's work, the old advice is up for grabs. A panel that picks a side and argues it. Come with an opinion; you may leave with a different one.

FAQ

The things people usually ask

Still got a question? Email us at contact@techtalkuk.co and we'll get back to you.

Who is this actually for?

People building careers in tech — operators, founders, engineers, designers, PMs and marketers. If you're 3+ years in and still investing in what's next, you'll fit.

I'm coming alone. Will that be awkward?

No. Most people come alone. The format is built for it — one room, drinks on arrival, and a closing social designed to make talking to strangers easy.

What's included in the ticket?

Both keynotes, both panels, drinks on arrival and the closing social. No add-ons, no upsells.

What time does it start and finish?

Doors 17:30. Programme runs until around 21:30, followed by the closing social.

Can I expense it?

Most attendees do. We can send an itemised receipt after purchase — just reply to your confirmation email.

Is there a dress code?

No dress code. Wear what you'd wear to a good dinner with people you want to impress a little.

When are the speakers announced?

Keynote 1 is confirmed. Remaining keynote and both panels are announced in August.

Can I get a refund or pass my ticket on?

Tickets are non-refundable, but fully transferable up to 48 hours before the event. Email hello@techtalk.com to change the name on a ticket.

Where exactly is the venue?

Central London. The exact address is shared with ticket-holders two weeks before the event.
